The Field Below the Index
The Field Below the Index is a seven-part speculative novella cycle about an unnamed Field as it is processed by systems of recognition, praise, supply, translation, strategy, and custody.
The Field Below the Index follows a Field that remains useful to external systems before it is fully recognized by them. Across linked episodes, the book follows procedures of classification, praise, supply, translation, strategy, and custody as they attempt to make the Field legible, portable, and usable. The work can be read as fiction on its own.
Short Fragments
The blank did not interrupt the system.
Praise is not the opposite of erasure.
